On a more serious note, bananas can be a powerful herbal remedy for promoting deep and restful sleep!
Bananas are rich in potassium, magnesium, and tryptophan. While potassium and magnesium are minerals associated with better sleep (both quality & length by relaxing and calming), the amino acid tryptophan, helps produce serotonin and melatonin!
I make this from time to time before bed and love it! I hope you will too!
Ingredients
1 Whole Ripe Banana
2 Cups Water
Dash of Cinnamon & Honey for tasting
Instructions
1. Wash banana and cut both off both ends and discard. Cut the remaining banana in half.
2. Place banana in pot of water, bring to boil then simmer for 10-15 minutes.
3. Stir in optional cinnamon and honey
4. Remove banana, strain and serve
Drink 30 minutes before bed for best results!
